The Christy
Investment Group (CIG) is an independent and privately owned registered
investment advisory firm that was founded in 1996. Our sole business is
managing stock portfolios and providing research (technical analysis)
for small to mid-level institutions.
The owner of CIG,
Robert Christy, has more than 26 years of experience as a trader in the
stock, option and futures markets. Over the course of his career, Mr.
Christy has placed specific emphasis on the concept of risk management.
Mr. Christy is the author of numerous articles that run the entire gamut
of the financial spectrum. He has appeared on TV and has been the
featured guest on many radio shows. Currently, he is also the editor and
publisher of The Intelligent Trader, a premier stock trading
service.
The
research conducted by CIG is called technical analysis because we
study/comment on the historic relationship that exists between supply
and demand. This simple premise provides us with an objective and
logical approach that we feel helps reduce uncertainty in the stock
market. The method that we use is more commonly known as Point & Figure
analysis and was first popularized in the late 1800’s by Charles Dow,
the founder of Dow Jones & Co.
In its
most simplistic form P&F analysis is a sensible and organized record of
the relationship between supply and demand in the market, market
sectors, and individual stocks. We believe this kind of research, when
coupled with sound fundamental research, greatly increases our chances
of success in the market.
Our
track record dates back to 1982. We have shown year in and year out that
this investment strategy can produce more than competitive results.
